Wir sind für Sie da.
We had a lovely time with extended stays in ports, great atmosphere on board with friendly fellow guests and stimulating conversation. We booked the cruise sort of last minute when prices had reduced considerably. I would book Azamara again if I find a comparable offer.
Old, but well-maintaind ship, everything in cabin and public areas in good working order. Clean and hygienic. Classic, elegant decor without seeming outdated, more like a bijou hotel than a ship. Well-equipped and stocked FREE laundry room.
Our V1 cabin was comfortably spacious enough for 2 people, with a nice small couch/love seat, very comfortable bed and pillows. Again, old but well maintained and clean. Balcony and bathroom quite small, but very functional. Quiet even though it was near the staircase, lifts. Very handy for the laundry room just across the hallway. Lots of free movies on TV. Useful sensor lighting in wardrobe; daily fresh flowers and unlimited bottled water; quality toiletries....I could go on, can't cover everything, but overall a very nice cabin; would stay in it again.
The first morning had a fantastic buffet brunch served by friendly crew members, we were spoilt for choice! Food generally very good quality and plentiful enough with much variety, especially in the windows cafe. Used Prime C once, but did not find the food any better than in Discoveries restaurant, IMO more limited given our gluten-free needs, so wouldn't visit again. We celebrated our anniversary there and even though they were informed (several times before and during the cruise) of my husband was lactose- and gluten-intolerant they still 'gifted' us with a torte made of lashings of cream and wheat-based cake, not much of a gift since we couldn't eat it and had to leave it behind. Generally very few gluten-free desert options. Patio salad/burger bar quite good, but again with limited gluten-free options. Good selection of unlimited, complimentary wines, cocktails, beers, soft drinks, throughout the ship, etc, so no need for a drinks package (unless you're very picky). Overall very good catering.

Only had a pedicure (which I think was quite pricey compared to on land), but I wanted to treat myself, so ok. The salon was bright with views of the sea. The staff seemed competent.

The baggage handling before boarding in Lisbon was somewhat disorganised and chaotic, no adherence to the 'strict' allocated boarding times, no proper queue, but as we had a later time slot all worked out ok in the end. For us it was very good value for money as we could have cruised without spending a single dime on board and still had good quality food and drinks, no obligatory tipping, extra charges or being harassed at every corner to buy a drinks package; what we spent was all optional. One recommendation: retrain or upgrade the DJ - the disco dance floor in the living room would have been much fuller!
