Cruise Club status and benefits

Your personal status in the Cruise Club is based on the number of cruises you've taken with e-hoi in the last 3 years, starting from the beginning of your current status.

The status levels build on each other: As an Explorer, you can become an Insider, and as an Insider, you can rise to Expert. Your benefits and status remain valid for 36 months. During this time, you can either maintain your status or even advance to the next level. Otherwise, you will return to the previous level.

Cruise Coins

Cruise Coins are the exclusive currency of the Cruise Club. For every cruise you book through e-hoi, you automatically earn Cruise Coins, which are credited directly to your Cruise Coins account. You receive one Cruise Coin for every CHF of the booking revenue. Your accumulated Cruise Coins are activated once your journey begins and can easily be redeemed as a discount for future bookings.

Here you will find answers to questions about collecting and redeeming Cruise Coins, the benefits of each status level, and much more.

The Cruise Club offers its members three status levels: Explorer, Insider, and Expert. The level you achieve depends on the number of cruises you have taken within 3 years, which you booked through e-hoi. This period starts with the creation of your e-hoi customer account and resets with each status change. Each Cruise Club status provides you with exclusive benefits that you can enjoy once you reach and maintain the status.

You can find all information about your Cruise Club status in your customer account. Here, you can view your current Cruise Club status, your status progress, and the associated status benefits.

The Cruise Club status system consists of three status levels: Explorer, Insider, and Expert. When you create an e-hoi customer account, you start at the Explorer status. You then have 3 years to reach the next status, Insider.

The status system is like a staircase: As an Explorer, you can upgrade to Insider after completing two cruises booked through e-hoi. As an Insider, you have 3 years to either reach the Expert status or maintain your Insider status. Once you're an Expert, you have 3 years to maintain your Expert status. Each status level in the Cruise Club offers exclusive benefits. An overview of all status benefits can be found here. The benefits valid for your current status level can be viewed at any time in your customer account.

As an Explorer, your next achievable status level is Insider. To become an Insider, you need to complete at least 2 cruises booked through e-hoi within 3 years of receiving the Explorer status (starting from the creation of your e-hoi customer account). After completing your second cruise, your status will be automatically upgraded to Insider.

As an Insider, your next achievable status level is Expert. You will upgrade to Expert if you complete at least 4 cruises booked through e-hoi within 3 years of receiving the Insider status. After completing your fourth cruise, your status will be automatically upgraded to the highest level, Expert.

You reach the next status level by completing cruises booked through e-hoi. The required number of cruises for the next status level differs depending on your current level:

  • As an Explorer, you will upgrade to Insider after completing at least 2 cruises within 3 years of receiving the Explorer status.
  • As an Insider, you will upgrade to Expert after completing at least 4 cruises within 3 years of receiving the Insider status.

With each status upgrade, you can expect additional exclusive benefits!

Your status is valid for 3 years. During this period, you can upgrade to the next higher status level or maintain your current status. If you do not renew your current status within this period, you will return to the previous status level.

You can use your status benefits as follows:

Explorer

  • Discount on travel insurance: You will receive the discount on your next booking for which you purchase travel insurance.

Insider

  • Discount on travel insurance: You will receive the discount on your next booking for which you purchase travel insurance.
  • You will be informed about all other status benefits in your customer account and through your benefits newsletter. Not subscribed to the e-hoi newsletter yet? You can sign up here.

Expert

  • Discount on travel insurance: You will receive the discount on your next booking for which you purchase travel insurance.
  • Additional status benefits can be found in your customer account and in the benefits newsletter. Not subscribed to the e-hoi newsletter yet? You can sign up here.

If you return to your previous level, you will have another 3 years to secure that status level again or to upgrade to the next level. The rules for achieving the status remain unchanged:

  • If you return to the Explorer status from Insider: You have 3 years to reach the Insider status again. At least 2 completed cruises within this period are required.
  • If you return to the Insider status from Expert: You also have 3 years to upgrade back to Expert. At least 4 completed cruises within this period are necessary.

If you book a cruise through e-hoi while logged into your e-hoi account and travel, it will count towards your status progress. If you cancel this booking and do not take the trip, it will be deducted from your status progress.

Cruise Coins are the exclusive currency of the Cruise Club. For every cruise you book through e-hoi, you automatically collect Cruise Coins, which are credited directly to your Cruise Coins account.

The condition is that you must be logged into your e-hoi customer account when making the booking, or if booking through the service center, you need to reference your e-hoi customer account with your account email address.

Collecting: For every CHF 1 of the trip price, you will receive one Cruise Coin.

Redeeming: When you redeem your Cruise Coins for your next booking through e-hoi, the conversion value of one Cruise Coin is 0,01 CHF.

Example: For a trip price of CHF 500, you will receive 500 Cruise Coins. When redeeming these for a new booking, you will receive a booking discount of CHF 5.

Once your booking is completed with e-hoi, you will collect inactive Cruise Coins when the invoice is sent. Your inactive Cruise Coins will be activated once your trip begins. Once your Cruise Coins are activated, you can redeem them for new bookings.

You can redeem your active Cruise Coins for any new booking with e-hoi. To do so, you first need to log into your customer account. Once logged in, you can agree to redeem your Cruise Coins during the booking process on our website, or, when booking through the service center, you can reference your e-hoi customer account and Cruise Club membership.

It is not possible to redeem Cruise Coins for an existing booking afterward.

The program excludes bookings from commercial customers, group bookings, bookings with selected discounts, auction bookings, or the purchase of a voucher.

In exceptional cases, certain offers and cruise lines may also be excluded from the Cruise Club.

The purchase of gift vouchers does not allow you to collect Cruise Coins.

When redeeming a gift voucher, the full (non-discounted) trip price will be used as the basis for calculating the Cruise Coins collected.

Your Cruise Coins are valid for three years from the booking date. You can view the validity period in your customer account.

If you do not redeem your Cruise Coins within this period, they will expire. It is not possible to restore expired Cruise Coins.

Cruise Coins received as part of special promotions and activated by redeeming a personal code may have a different validity period. This period is specified in the offer conditions.

Before your Cruise Coins expire, you can redeem them for a new booking through e-hoi.

Your inactive Cruise Coins will be activated once you embark on the trip where you collected the corresponding Cruise Coins. Once your Cruise Coins are activated, you can redeem them for new bookings.

This means you can use your Cruise Coins after activation, i.e., after the trip has started.

Your inactive Cruise Coins will be activated as soon as you embark on your trip.

If you cancel your booking, the inactive Cruise Coins you collected with that booking will also be cancelled.

Anyone who has an e-hoi customer account and agrees to the Cruise Club's terms and conditions can become a member – it's quick and easy, taking just a minute.

As a member of the Cruise Club, you benefit in two ways: with every booking through e-hoi, you can enjoy not only the Cruise Club benefits but also the loyalty benefits of the cruise line.

Additionally, you can redeem your collected Cruise Coins for new cruise bookings. Status members also have access to an exclusive benefits world with special highlights such as exclusive raffles.

By creating an e-hoi customer account, you will automatically become a member of the Cruise Club. Sign up for the Cruise Club now.

Do you want to end your membership? If you cancel your Cruise Club membership, your Cruise Club benefits will be stopped, and you will lose your status and collected Cruise Coins. If you decide against a membership, you can easily end it in your customer account.

Want to become a member again? If you have canceled your Cruise Club membership and wish to renew it, we would be happy to welcome you back as a member. Simply sign up for the Cruise Club again in your customer account.

Please note that any status benefits and collected Cruise Coins received before cancellation cannot be restored after ending your membership, and the welcome bonus is a one-time credit that cannot be granted again if you create a new account.

In order for us to credit you with Cruise Coins and status progress, it is important to be logged into your e-hoi customer account when making the booking, or to reference your customer account (the email address of your account) when booking through customer service.

If this is your first time booking with e-hoi and you don’t have a customer account yet, you can create one up to four weeks after completing your booking to receive the Cruise Coins automatically.

You can create your customer account up to four weeks after completing your booking to ensure that your Cruise Coins are credited retroactively. If you create your customer account within this time frame, your booking will also count towards your status level. Please note that the email address used to create your customer account must be identical to the email address used for the booking. If the email addresses differ, automatic recognition in the system will not be possible.

If you already have an existing e-hoi customer account, you must be logged into your account during your booking to collect Cruise Coins and activate your status progress. The same applies to a phone booking through our service team: Please provide your existing e-hoi customer account so that you can collect Cruise Coins and activate your status progress with your booking.
