Founding history
Following the highly successful establishment of an online booking platform for cruises (e-hoi.de) in 2003, e-hoi GmbH & Co.KG, the head office of which is located in Frankfurt (Germany), decided to extend this experience to other markets. The Swiss company e-hoi Ltd. (website: www.e-hoi.ch, the head office of which is located in Herisau (Appenzell Ausser-Rhoden half canton of Switzerland), was established 2010 with a view to developing the leading online cruise marketing platform and ensuring that Swiss customers/guests are offered the best possible service and prices.
The standard marketing method for cruise packages is via traditional travel agencies or direct marketing. Up to now in Switzerland, only a tiny proportion of cruises (under 2%) have been booked online. Because many shipping lines readjust catalogue prices to reflect up-to-date prices which are tailored to the market situation, it is very difficult for customers to book the trip they want at the best price. In these circumstances, the internet offers one crucial competitive advantage: Price changes are registered in the system immediately and conveyed to customers/guests within a short time, thanks to the internet platform.

e-hoi is a cruise specialist with its head office in Herisau (Appenzell Ausser-Rhoden half canton of Switzerland), through which holidaymakers can book any cruises offered by Switzerland’s major shipping lines. e-hoi acts as a travel agency and tour operator and is a full service provider, taking care of everything involved in the booking process, from the booking itself to the issue of travel documents. e-hoi is part of the e-domizil group of companies, which also runs the online holiday home agency www.e-domizil.ch.

Management
Marcel Meek has been responsible for the business of e-hoi AG since April 2021. The business economist most recently worked as Manager in the Supplier Management & Procurement Team at American Express GBT. Before that, he gained experience in procurement in business travel management at HRG, as head of the individual travel business at Reisecenter Plus AG, formerly the largest Swiss group travel provider for cruises, and in product management at STC Switzerland Travel Centre AG.
Manuela Bolder is a certified tourism expert and a qualified public relations specialist. As a career changer, she gained in-depth knowledge in well-known companies such as Nestlé Suisse S.A. and Sefar AG. From 2011 to 2016 she worked as Marketing Manager at e-hoi AG and took on various projects in the field of Deputy Managing Director. Since 2016, she has held the position of Chief Operation Officer and is responsible for all processes and operations.
