Carnival Mardi Gras – the newest innovation at sea
Back in 1972 the very first ship of Carnival Cruise line launched, the TSS Mardi Grass. Since 2020 the new Carnival Mardi Gras sails across seas as a tribute to the first ship of the cruise line. The new but similar name symbolizes new innovation. Living up to this legacy, the roughly 5200 passengers should be prepared for the extraordinary! The ship sails across the Caribbean, Northland and North America. It is the first American ship to be powered by liquefied natural gas and Carnival’s biggest cruise ship.
Special Highlights onboard the Carnival Mardi Gras
Guests can expect many new amenities on board. The ship has 6 ‘’zones’’, each of it having a different theme packed with brand-new experience for eating, drinking and spectacular getting down to fun. Situated in the atrium of the ship is the ‘’Grand Central’’, the entertainment complex with three-deck-high floor-to-ceiling windows and a bar with sweeping ocean views. You can choose from different kind of music venues, cafés, bars to enjoy your evening! Of course the fantastic ‘’French Quarter’’ of New Orleans gets a zone, too. With bars, restaurants and even a jazz club, spending a night in this zone is like a night in the movie ,,The Big Easy’’ .
Want to enjoy the sun and take a cool dip whenever you feel like it? The ,,Summer Landing’’ is the perfect place to just hang around the pool and get yourself a nice tan. BBQ and beer are just part of poolside chilling in the summer, so try out the Guy’s Pig & Anchors Smokehouse for some delicious BBQ and ice cold beer. The zone ,,La Piazza’’ offers Italian classics so eat some pasta and pizza in Cucina del Capitano and Pizzaria del Capitano or some delicious fish in the sea food restaurant. One of the newest innovations and definitely a unique highlight onboard of the Carnival Mardi Gras is ,,The Ultimate Playground’’. This zone is the perfect place to have some fun and enjoy some quality family time. Try out the first roller coaster at sea, the most elaborate and largest Carnival Waterworks aqua park or mini golf - there’s something for everybody.
Spa & Wellness
After a fun and an exciting day there is plenty of options to relax here. The cloud 9 Spa is the perfect place to relax and treat yourself with a luxurious spa treatment. Forget the outside world and enjoy professional massages, refreshing body wraps and healthy thermal suite. Guests older than the age of 21 have a separate Serenity area.
