This was a major inconvenience and reflected a lack of respect for passengers. Food Quality: The food quality, both in the main dining room and the buffet, was disappointing. The dishes were bland and lacking in flavor, and the fruits were often of low quality and half rotten. Service: The service was generally unfriendly and inefficient. Wait times were long, orders were often forgotten, and staff members appeared confused and overwhelmed. Shore Excursions: The shore excursions were not well-organized, and the information provided was often inaccurate. Some of the destinations, such as Izmir, were also quite boring. Internet Activation Fees: The cruise line charged extra for internet activation, which was not disclosed upfront. This was an irritation and felt like being served spaghetti without sauce. Segregation of Adults and Families: There was a lack of segregation between adults and families, particularly in the dining areas. This made it difficult for adults to enjoy their meals in peace. Favorable Aspects: Ship Condition: The ship was clean and well-maintained, despite being 13 years old. Entertainment: The entertainment was impressive and diverse, with a variety of shows and activities to suit all tastes. Ancillary Services: The ancillary services, such as housekeeping and shore procedures, were generally efficient and of good standard. Disembarkation: The disembarkation process in Istanbul was well-organized and stress-free. The luggage on the rack was color-coded, which made it easy to find. Overall Impression: Overall, the Costa DiLizionà cruise was a quite disappointing experience. While the ship was clean and well-maintained, the food quality, service, and shore excursions were subpar. The slow boarding process and lack of segregation between adults and families also contributed the overall negative experience. I would not recommend this cruise to others.
