Nowadays, Saint-Nazaire, the port in the South of Brittany and the shipbuilding capital is a very modern town, having been completely destroyed during the second World War. Holidaymakers particularly love the many beaches that gave the town its nick-name, the "town of the twenty beaches". The town also serves as a deep-sea port for Nantes.
Sights include: the submarine 'Espadon', the Jardin des Plantes and the Ecomuseum.
