Copenhagen is not only the capital of Denmark, but also the most multifaceted city in Scandinavia. A quarter of all Danes live in and around Copenhagen and yet the city remains, essentially, clearly laid out and easy to navigate. The massive bridge over the Bresund connecting Denmark with Sweden means Copenhagen has become an even more important hub in Scandinavia in the new millenium. Visitors from all over the world come to Copenhagen to have fun at Tivoli, to see the mermaid, the changing of the guard at the Queen's castle and much much more besides. Rostock, the almost 800-year-old Hanseatic city has retained much of its original charm, while still keeping abreast of modern developments. Shipbuilding and seafaring have always played an important role here. Today, this is where the main ferries to Scandinavia set sail. Before the city lies the beach resort of Warnemünde with a yacht marina and lovely beaches. Sailing ships still find a storm-proof harbour here, with just a short jounrey across open water. The historic town centre has a Hanseatic flair. Medieval churches and monasteries, impressive ruins of a defiant city wall, towers and city gates, gothic gabled houses and an unusual town hall have all stood the test of time. Sights include: the town hall, St. Mary's church, St. Nicholas' church, St. Catherine's convent, the stone gate, the house of the estates, the city wall and the Holy Cross Abbey.

The Venice of the North! Along the canals and waterways and in the winding streets between the stepped gable houses, Amsterdam has a cosy but cosmopolitan flair. Idyllic pavement cafés, lively flea markets, the Anne Frank House, the Rijks- or Van-Gogh-Museum and many, many galleries and shops selling products designed and made by young designers and artists.

This city with its 500,000 inhabitants is a real economic metropolis. It is home to the world centre of the diamond trade, the second largest port in Europe and various other industries and trade fairs. The second-largest city in Belgium boasts many attractions, such as the cathedral, which dates from the 14th -16th century, the market, the 16th century town hall and the fort of "Steen" dating from the 12th century. Other attractions include the "Royal Museum of Fine Arts", the Rubens house from the early 17th century and the international port.

London, a world city with a population of 7.1 million is the capital of the United Kingdom and a city of many faces. Next to the office blocks you can see street musicians who know exactly how to keep passers-by entertained. London boasts many famous museums, such as the Cabaret Mechanical Museum, as well as world-class musicals and some truly unique individuals. This is just as typical of the city by the Thames as the fog, the scandals surrounding the royal family and Buckingham Palace. The range of cultural activities on offer in London is huge and diverse and includes theatres, renowned orchestras and opera perormances. Sights include: the world-famous bell tower "Big Ben", St. Paul's Cathedral, high-end shops in Bond and Regent Street, Piccadilly Circus, "Madame Tussaud's" waxworks, shopping at Harrods and Portobello Market, Covent Garden, and the futuristically modern glass palaces.
