On an adventure cruise with the Icon of the Seas
The Icon of the Seas is the first cruise ship of Royal Caribbean's innovative Icon Class and a true adventure hotspot for sea travellers. The 365-metre-long ocean giant offers up to 7514 guests spectacular travel experiences for the whole family. On board, they can expect well-known highlights and numerous innovations that combine the best of holidays – whether luxury resort, theme park or relaxation on the beach.
A cruise with the Icon of the Seas is the most beautiful way to recharge your batteries.
But the revolutionary ocean-going vessel also boasts state-of-the-art and energy-efficient environmental technologies, including an LNG propulsion system, advanced heat recovery systems, fuel cell technology and a shore power connection.
Ultimate entertainment on board Icon of the Seas
Onboard, Icon of the Seas will delight guests with an unparalleled variety of entertainment, a wealth of dining options and five exciting new themed Neighborhoods offering a wide range of activities and live entertainment for all ages.
From an illuminated garden to a large dance floor in the onboard music hall, nightlife on the Icon of the Seas is lively and colorful. A comedy club for adults and numerous bars with different amenities such as piano music, karaoke or darts ensure that guests do not get bored even at late hours.
The Neighbourhood Thrill Island is a real adventure island full of adrenaline! It houses the large Category 6 water park with six record-breaking slides, including an open freefall slide and a family raft slide, as well as the new Crown's Edge attraction. A mix of skywalk obstacle courses at a height of almost 47 metres. But already well-known passenger magnets such as the Adrenaline Peak climbing course, the FlowRider surf simulator or the mini-golf course also provide excitement and thrills.
With four swimming pools, cosy bars and an adults-only area (Cloud 17), the three-storey Chill Island neighbourhood is the very definition of relaxation paradise.
Those who prefer beach holidays, on the other hand, can indulge in the laid-back beach club feel of The Hideaway-Neighbourhood and enjoy spectacular sea views from the multi-level sun terrace and infinity pool.
The Surfside Neighbourhood is designed with families in mind. There, varied activities await passengers of all ages all day long: including a pool for adults as well as separate areas for children and teenagers such as Splashaway Bay, Baby Bay, Adventure Ocean and Social020. Nearby are several restaurants offering delicious dishes.
Probably the most striking area of the Icon of the Seas is the AquaDome, at the front of the cruise ship, with a huge dome and a waterfall almost 17 metres high. During the day, the area serves as a lounge with a unique panoramic view of the sea. In the evening, it becomes a lively entertainment venue and theatre with spectacular water shows.
But guests will also find three familiar areas and attractions on board the ship – including the Royal Promenade, Central Park, the multi-level Suite Neighbourhood, Absolute Zero, Royal Caribbean's ice arena and a large sports court. The ice arena is the venue for a wide variety of performances. As with the other performances taking place elsewhere, there are some shows specially tailored to younger guests.
Staterooms and suites on board the Icon of the Seas
On board the Icon of the Seas, passengers can choose from 28 cabin categories with spacious and modern accommodation. Over 70% of the cabins have floor-to-ceiling windows and a private balcony. Many of the cabins and suites are perfectly tailored to families in terms of layout and furnishings and offer space for 3 to 4 people. The Family Staterooms with Infinite Balcony and the Royal Loft Suite are designed for up to 6 people.
Only the three-storey Ultimate Family Townhouse tops it all. The Townhouse offers, among other things, two bedrooms, a private cinema room, an exclusive area with table tennis, private access to the Surfside Neighbourhood and a slide leading from the upper level to the main level.
