Directly before the city lies Virginia Beach, a popular destination for holidaymakers with its beaches and range of water sports facilities. Hampton is situated on a tongue of land opposite Norfolk. It was founded in 1610, making it the oldest permanent settlement of English origin in the USA. Visitors will also enjoy the highly interesting Virginia Air and Space Centre.

Busy Bay Street holds a plethora of luxurious goods for those looking to do some shopping, while traditional goods can be found at Straw Market.

	'The Bahamian island closest to the American mainland, Bimini Island, is much more than a popular holiday destination with white sandy beaches and sparkling blue ocean, from where you can see the Miami skyline at night.
