The temperature on Fuerteventura remains pleasantly warm all year round, which is why the island is also known as the "island of eternal Springtime". Volcanic mountains, expansive steppes, picturesque coves and paradise beaches shape the face of the island. Dreamy little fishing villages with old churches and defence towers are typical of Fuerteventura.
Sights include: the capital, Puerto del Rosario, the small town of Betancuria which has an archaeological museum and the cathedral "Vega de Rio Palmas", the palm tree oasis to the South of Betancuria, the Corralejo nature park, a quiet sandy beach to the South of Puerto del Rosario.
