The old harbour town of Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône is around 50 km to the South of Arles at the Rhône estuary. This gateway to the Camargue is characterised by fishing, oyster breeding and the fish processing industry. In addition to the fishing harbour, there is also a yacht harbour and three beaches. On Saturdays and Wednesdays there is a busy and lively market.
Sights include: St. Louis tower with its ornithology museum, Saint Louis church and the oyster breeding area.
