Discoveries with Fridtjof Nansen
The expedition ship Fridtjof Nansen belongs to the fleet of HX Expeditions and offers worldwide expedition voyages, even into polar regions. The ship is almost identical in construction to its sister ship Roald Amundsen and possesses a hybrid technology to reduce emissions and fuel consumption. The breathtaking landscapes of the expedition areas influenced the interior design of the ship. Therefore the cabins as well as the public areas were designed with natural materials.
Experience expedition voyages
The Fridtjof Nansen is completely geared to expeditions. On board there are tender boats that are used for shore excursions and to discover special places at sea. The expedition team that accompanies the expedition voyages consists of experts that enrich every trip with their knowledge. The Fridtjof Nansen also has the Amundsen Science Center on board that contains edutainment offers and helps to learn more about the expedition destinations. The ship was named after the Norwegian discoverer, scientist and awardee of the Nobel Prize for Peace Fridtjof Nansen who also explored the North Pole.
Comfort, Culinary Art and Activities
The installations on board of the Fridtjof Nansen promise a comfortable expedition to the remotest parts of the world. Relaxation and activities are offered on one hand by the pool and the whirlpool as well as the sauna, on the other hand by the modern fitness center and running track on deck. The three restaurants on board provide a divers gastronomy experience. The main restaurant Aune, the restaurant Fredheim with its international cuisine and the upscale restaurant Lindstrøm leave nothing to be desired. The dishes are inspired by the Norwegian cuisine and take the travel destinations on board.
Outside cabins with comfortable equipment
All cabins on the Fridtjof Nansen are outside cabins, most of them have a private balcony. There are different cabin categories, Polar Outside, Arctic Superior and the Expedition Suites. The equipment in all cabins comprises a double bed that can be separated, a bathroom with a shower and a TV. In the Arctic Superior Class there is additionally a care kit and an electric kettle for preparing tea and coffee and in the Expedition Suites a bathrobe and an espresso machine are provided.
