Travel in Polynesian waters with the Paul Gauguin
The almost 157-meter-long Paul Gauguin, built in 1998, can take up to 330 passengers on a dreamlike South Seas cruise. The ship bears his name in honor of the French painter Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin. Gauguin spent his twilight years until 1903 on the Marquesas Islands in the South Seas. He became famous for his South Seas paintings. Since Gauguin is considered a pioneer of expressionism, a gallery of Polynesian art was set up on the ship.
The white ship with the sophisticated ambience was designed with such a shallow draft that it is able to sail in the shallow coastal waters of Tahiti and French Polynesia, calling at picturesque smaller ports whose access is denied to larger cruise ships.
The Paul Gauguin delights with generously proportioned staterooms and suites, numerous facilities and amenities, and exquisite service. The interiors impress with cherry and mahogany woods, marble and chrome. There are sweet smells of Polynesia's national flower, the tiare gardenia, and ginger.
Comfortable cabins and suites
Passengers have a total of 165 cabins and suites on board, some with private balconies. The standard cabin is 19 square meters, while the Owner Suite offers an area of 49 square meters. The cabins and suites mainly have queen-size beds (some cabins have two separate single beds), a marble bathroom with WC and with shower and/or bathtub, a hairdryer, a TV, a CD and DVD player, a minibar, a safe and individually regulated air conditioning.
Varied leisure activities on board
The luxurious ambiance on the Paul Gauguin invites cruise guests to quietly read a novel from the onboard library or watch a DVD from the video library. In the evening, passengers will find a small gift, a Polynesian fairy tale or romantic island legend on their pillows.
Wellness lovers enjoy extended stays in the luxury spa and can take a few laps in the outdoor swimming pool. A pool bar offers refreshing drinks. Passengers can relax and soak up the sun on the sundeck with ample lounge chairs and outdoor bar. Guests can make a pampering appointment at the beauty salon or consult the hairdresser for a trendy new haircut. For sports lovers, there is a fitness center. In the boutique, ship travelers may find an original souvenir. In addition, guests can have beautiful vacation memories captured in photos by a professional photographer on board.
For water sports activities such as surfing, kayaking and stand-up paddling, the Paul Gauguin has been equipped with a fold-out stern platform. A diving school is also available.
In the 3 restaurants L'Etoile, La Veranda and Le Grill, the palate is spoiled culinary - both with exquisite dishes and exquisite wines. After the meal, cruise passengers head to the Main Lounge, La Palette Lounge or the Piano Bar, where a diverse entertainment program awaits them. In addition, guests can challenge their luck in the stylish casino.
