Wir sind für Sie da.
The excursion begins with a trip through Back Bay - original a mudflat which was filled in when the living capacity of the city became exhausted in the middle of the 19th century. The trip then continues down Newbury Street with its rows of modern boutiques and restaurants. Also a visit to the small town of Beacon Hill, which was home to personalities such as John Hancock, Daniel Webster, Louisa May Alcott and Henry James. In Charleston the tour will take in the USS Constitution - better known as Old Ironsides - which is said to be the world's oldest navy vessel. After visits to further tourist sights the tour arrives in Boston's sister city of Cambridge. Of particular note here are Harvard Square, the John F. Kennedy School of Government and Longfellow House.
Upon disembarking at Harvard Yard, there will first be an opportunity to stroll through the grounds of Boston's university. This is where the famous bronze statue of John Harvard stands, sculpted by the creator of the Lincoln Memorial. The trip continues through the beautiful landscape, characterised by fields used for agriculture and ancient-looking stone walls. Upon arrival in the villa district of Cambridge there will be a short stopover at the house of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. This was built in Georgian style and was a place of refuge for loyalists during the revolution. The trip then takes in the North Bridge in neighbouring Concord, where the farmers of Colonial times opened fire on the British army. It will also be possible to visit the Concord Minuteman Statue and the country houses of famous 19th century authors.
An unforgettable trip to Dorchester Bay, which is home to the John F. Kennedy library and the associated museum. From there you have spectacular views of Boston's shoreline. The museum contains some noteworthy exhibits and you can watch a film about the young Kennedy which outlines his political life.
