Expedition ship HANSEATIC nature

The HANSEATIC nature was built for unforgettable and luxurious expedition cruises and possesses the ice class PC6, the highest ice class for passenger ships. That allows incomparable expeditions into the Arctic and Antarctic, but also into warm water areas like the Amazonas. The ship is equipped with the latest environmental friendly technique to reduce emissions and to preserve the environment of the destinations. The passengers can get really close to nature on their expedition, e.g. via the innovative platform in front of the prow or on the two balconies made of glass that gives the feeling to float over the water. The HANSEATIC nature offers enough space for 230 passengers, on expeditions to the Antarctic only 199 passengers can go on board so that there is a very intimate atmosphere. The language on board is German. The equipment of the ship is based on the design concept “Inspired by nature” that is reflected in the flowing lines in the public areas as well as in the choice of colors and material, that are combined to a harmonious overall experience.

Expedition equipment in the cabins and suites

The cabins and suites on board promise a restful stay. All cabins and suites of the HANSEATIC nature are located towards the outside and most of them have a private balcony or a French balcony. They are generously dimensioned, the size varies from 21 m² in the outside cabins to 71 m² in the Grand Suite. The equipment of the cabins suits well with the expedition character of the cruise: besides a free minibar, a coffee machine, a separable double bed and air conditioning there are binoculars and Nordic Walking sticks in every cabin and suite. In the bathroom there is – besides a rain shower – a heatable wall where towels and wet parkas can be dried.

Culinary indulgences and flexibility

For culinary indulgences passengers of the HANSEATIC nature can choose between the main restaurant, the specialty restaurant, the Bistro restaurant and two bars. The main restaurant seats 178 guests, the specialty restaurants offers special menus for 44 guests and the Bistro restaurant seats 84 guests inside and about 100 guests outside in a casual atmosphere. Guests are flexible when choosing the restaurant and their seats, because there is a free choice of the table so that everyday another view can be chosen.

Free time activities for everyone

A huge choice is offered by the numerous free time activities on board. In line with the spirit of an expedition cruise the HANSEATIC nature has a learning atelier where individual information can be retrieved and the microscopes of the ship can be used. Guests that are looking for relaxation can be pampered in the spa area or relax on the sun deck with a pool that can be used regardless of weather conditions because of a flexible tent roof. The pool also has a counter-current system. The active part of the HANSEATIC nature is the fitness area with sea view and modern equipment. Furthermore there is an additional room for sport courses. The Marina of the ship offers possibilities for water sports such as Stand Up Paddeling and kayaking in the warmer regions.
