Dream cruises onboard the Nieuw Statendam
The Nieuw Statendam is the second ship of the Pinnacle Class and the sister ship of the Koningsdam. The name Statendam has already been given to five ships of Holland America Line’s fleet and shows the long tradition of the Dutch seafaring of the cruise line.
Exclusive style & excellent service
The Nieuw Statendam offers space for up to 2.650 passengers, who can enjoy the modern and elegant furniture of the ship while relishing the matchless service. The public areas were designed by Adam D. Tihany and Bjørn Storbraaten, two desingers and architects, who also designed the furniture for the Koningsdam. Now they equipped the Nieuw Statendam with spacious, light-flooded areas as well. On the Nieuw Statendam, exclusive and modern style is combined with the typical classic style of Holland America Line. The staterooms of the Nieuw Statendam were designed in a totally new way including the input of the guests. New features are for example USB-Ports close to the bed, frameless shower doors and customized wood cabinets. The sizes and the amenities of the cabins vary depending on the category. They offer a private retreat for families up to five persons in the family ocean-view-stateroom as well as for singles in special single cabins.
Culinary delights for everyone's taste
The various dining venues on the Nieuw Statendam offer culinary pleasures for every taste. The main restaurant, the buffet restaurant Lido Market, New York Pizza, the Dive-In Grill at the pool, the Grand Dutch Café and ice cream at G Gelato are included. All meals can also be ordered to the stateroom. Furthermore there are numerous specialty restaurants on board that will elate with their diversified meals (an additional charge applies). Specialties from the North-West of America are served in the Pinnacle Grill, the Canaletto provides the taste of Italian indulgences and the restaurant Tamarind offers Southeast Asian food. A new dinner concept is presented in the Culinary Arts Center, while the Sel de Meer serves classical French seafood.
Wellness, sports & entertainment onboard the Nieuw Statendam
The entertainment on board leaves nothing to be desired. During the day various programs, e.g. wine tastings or several workshops are offered. Sport and relaxation can be found in the fitness center with its sport courses, in the two swimming pools on board or in the Greenhouse Spa & Salon, where a massage or a facial can be enjoyed. In the evening, all kinds of live music is presented in various locations and movies are shown in the movie theatre or underneath the stars. The bars and lounges of the Nieuw Statendam invite all guests to take an ice-cold drink before going to their stateroom in the evening.
