Port Moresby has a population of 300,000 and is the capital of Papua New Guinea. It is a city with leafy suburbs, cool, shady streets and modern office blocks, department stores, hotels and good restaurants. It is home to the national parliament, the high court and the National Museum, which has a large collection of traditional masks and shields on display, as well as a regional and cultural exhibition and is definitely worth a visit. Port Moresby also has a botanic garden and a catholic church. The surrounding area also has a wealth of sights to offer, such as Wairiata National Park, Moitaka crocodile farm, Loloata island and the sea life centre and oceanarium.
