Wir sind für Sie da.
The destination of this excursion is the biggest penguin colony outside the Antarctic in Punta Tombo. After a drive of about 60 km from Puerto Madryn to the city limits of Trelew, a rough track goes on through the barren landscape of the Patagonian pampa to Punta Tombo, about 120 km away from Trelew. From September to April every year a unique natural spectacle unfolds here: the gathering of thousands of brooding Magellan penguins. Marked-out routes lead directly through the colony, coming close to the animals. A packed lunch from the ship is included in the price.
This trip takes you through the centre of the coastal city of Puerto Madryn, along the elongated bay into the sea lion reservation of Punta Loma. The small reservation is home to about 200 sea lions. The animals can be observed from a platform (about 20 metres away). The trip goes on to a typical Patagonian Estancia (farm), where sheep are bred in line with ancient Patagonian practices. There will be guided tour of the farm, and coffee or tea will be served by the owners.
