Norway's breathtaking coasts up close on board the Havila Polaris
Rough open seas, deep fjords, snowy mountain peaks and countless tiny islands. The Norwegian coast is a landscape of fascinating contrasts. The Havila Polaris of the family-owned shipping company Havila Voyages, completed in 2022, offers travellers a front row seat to experience the natural wonders of the Northern country up close. The coastal cruises follow the classic national postal ship route. On this legendary cruise line, up to 640 guests discover the great diversity of the coastal region. The cruise ship stops at a total of more than 30 locations. Depending on the season, travellers are in for a completely new experience, from the aurora boreakis of the polar night to the midnight sun in summer.Focus on sustainability and environmental protection
In order to preserve the country's unspoilt nature as best as possible, Havila Voyages is committed to sustainable tourism. Like its sister ships Havila Pollux, Havila Capella and Havila Castor, Havila Polaris is one of the most environmentally friendly coastal ships in the world. Eco-friendly design, energy efficiency and low fuel consumption ensure that the coastal cruise ship leaves a small ecological footprint. The Havila Polaris is powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and electricity. The charging current for the complementary battery comes from hydropower. Thanks to this advanced combination, CO2 emissions are reduced by 25% and nitrogen oxide emissions by as much as 90%.Design inspired by nature
With a length of 124 metres and six passenger decks, the Havila Polaris offers plenty of space to enjoy the journey to the fullest. To ensure an unobstructed view of the natural scenery, the ship was built with an open design in mind. A lot of wood, natural tones and a reduced, Nordic look result in a harmonious whole that is inspired by the surrounding nature. An environment that radiates peace and comfort and invites guests to unwind. Many of the 179 modern cabins are located on the outside of the ship. Here, guests have a view of the surrounding landscape from the privacy of their own room. Some rooms have large panoramic windows or a private balcony. Standard amenities include a bathroom with shower and WC, a wardrobe and a flat-screen TV. In many cabins there is also a comfortable seating area and/or a desk.
Regional and manifold - culinary delights on board the Havila Polaris

On request, the chefs are happy to offer vegan, vegetarian or allergy-friendly alternatives. The kitchen prefers to use regional ingredients directly from the sea and from the fertile farms of the inland. The dishes are tailored to the current season and the respective section of the route. Travellers get to know traditional dishes and discover the variety of flavours of the individual places as they enjoy the fantastic view from the different venues.A variety of on-board facilities ensure an exciting and enjoyable voyage
