Explore the Norwegian coast with the Polarlys
The Hurtigruten mail ship MS Polarlys was named after the aurora borealis, an impressive phenomenon of light in the sky in the polar regions. The 123 metre long ship has something that also makes it shine: the mixture of mahogany, polished brass and Norwegian contemporary artwork combined with wooden floorboards in the cafés, bars and salons. The mail ship, which, like the other ships in the Hurtigruten fleet, calls at the most interesting harbour towns between Bergen and Kirkenes on the Norwegian coast, first set sail in 1996, was modernised in 2023 and can take 650 guests on a cruise.
Variety of activities
Relaxing on the sun deck, enjoying the view from the panorama lounge or unwinding in the sauna - these are just a few of the leisure activities available to guests on board. On the Polarlys, as on the other ships, there are lectures and courses by experts who are happy to share their knowledge with passengers.
The culinary delights of Norway
The Torget, the main restaurant, offers Scandinavian breakfast and lunch buffets with many fish specialities as well as vegetarian dishes. In the evening, there is either a typical Norwegian buffet or carefully created menus. At Brygga, guests will find well-known classics such as pizzas and burgers, while Kysten offers traditional dishes in a modern à la cartze style.
Let yourself be seduced by the stylish atmosphere of the Polarlys and look forward to discovering inspiring Norwegian harbour towns!
