Built in 2003, MS Oosterdam is the second ship of the Holland America Line's Vista Class which complies with the latest industrial and environmental standards. The 285-metre-long ship can accommodate 1,916 passengers and around 820 crew members.
At the center of the ship is an impressive three-level atrium with a splendid crystal globe. Warm colors create a pleasant atmosphere on board. The ship’s interior is designed with exquisite details and lots of crystal, marble, tropical woods, brass, flower arrangements, works of art and antiques – aboard Oosterdam the passengers will feel at home. The ship's facilities and amenities include three restaurants, three pools, two bars, several lounges, a promenade deck made of teak with cushioned deckchairs and a modern fitness center. The ship also features the show kitchen for which Holland America Line is famous as well as a café with a library and Internet connection. There is also a computer room, a wonderful beauty salon and spa area as well as a kids club and youth club (one for children aged between 3 and 12, the other for 13 to 17-year-olds). In the evening, the show lounge and the trendy nightclub ensure that guests have a great time. The nightclub features a 270-degree panorama view. The passengers can enjoy five-course continental and vegetarian cuisine, with diet meals on request, as well as barbeque and other specialties. Cabins range in size from 13 to 19 m2, and suites are up to 122 m2.
